Missing Girl's Parents Head To Morocco

The parents of Madeleine McCann are in Morocco on the last in a series of trips to find their daughter.

Kate and Gerry McCann are in the capital Rabat for meetings with anti-abduction groups and, hopefully, government ministers.

The couple say the trip will be their last for some time as they now want time to reflect on their loss and grieve.

The visit to north Africa is seen as a potentially crucial one in the search for Madeleine.

There has been no sign of the four-year-old since she was taken from her bed in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3.

Her parents have led a tireless campaign to trace her and the media coverage has been unprecedented.

But they now believe they have covered the main countries where appeals might help and it is time for a break.

"We'll still meet with the Portuguese police as we have done fairly regularly and with the British Police," said Mr McCann.

"But it is definitely going to be a period of reflection."

The couple have said they plan to stay in the Algarve until the end of the summer or until Madeleine is found.

They intend to move out of the apartment complex where they have been staying and into more permanent accommodation.
